Project: Redesigning mirrors to have reflective surfaces in line with the principles of a circular economy
This project studies the current design of mirrors as a composite material made of glass, a polymeric layer and a metallic layer and challenges its design considering limited and inefficient options for end of life management. The study proposes a framework for rethinking design for a circular economy and critically analyses and presents possible options and strategies to undertake redesign of reflective surfaces. Some options lead to material or product redesign, while the other discusses business and distribution model redesign.
