Project: Modelling the impact of market instruments to drive policy: Behaviour of recycling value chains catering to dynamic secondary markets

The project aims to develop a model to simulate the material and monetary flows across both virgin resource and recovered resource value chains. The model evaluates how secondary materials gain competitiveness as against traditional substitutes with the application of a combination of incentive and disincentives, aiming to achieve a policy outcome. The project captures the use of pricing strategies to influence uptake of virgin and recycled material by product manufacturers in catering to their respective markets.
